Very Flexible Weibull Distribution

Abstract


In  this  study,  we  introduce  a  new  two  parameters  extension  of  the  Weibull  model,  aiming  to  increase  the  level  of  flexibility without  increasing  the  number  of  parameters.  The  proposed  distribution  is  introduced  by  using  the  linear  system  of  the  two logarithms  of  cumulative  hazard  functions.  The  proposed  model  may  be  named  as  very  flexible  Weibull  distribution,  the suggested  model  is  more  flexible  and  is  able  to  model  lifetime  data  with  increasing,  unimodal  or  modified  unimodal  failure rates.  The  mathematical  properties  and  maximum  likelihood  estimates  of  the  model  parameters  will  be  obtained.  The  ageing behaviour  of  the  proposed  model  will  also  be  discussed.  The  practical  workability  of  the  proposed  model  will  be  demonstrated by  analyzing  a  real data  set.
