A new methodology for severity analysis of power system network by using Bayesian network

Abstract


Power systems are complicated network comprising of several components. Weak component detection of a power system network is essential for determining optimal maintenance policy. Evaluation of overall reliability of the network and identification of vulnerable components of the complicated power system network is still a major concern for power system engineers. The existing methods of risk analysis fail to identify the critical components of the system. Here a novel methodology for reliability evaluation and critical component analysis of complex network based on Bayesian network is presented.
